WGHS Leap Week for Frogs
28th February 2015 was the third annual national awareness day for Southern African Frogs, known as
"Leap Day for Frogs". In support of this initiative, WGHS ran "Frog Week" from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th February.
The Westville Girls Eco Angels coordinated and participated in a number of activities related to Leap Day for Frogs, raising awareness about amphibian conservation, as well as donations for the Threatened Amphibian Programme in South Africa.

Green Bling Day
Following last years' Green Shirt Day success, we opted to do a similar event this year. We chose Green Bling as our theme - learner's were encouraged to donate R5 to wear Green Bling on Friday 27th February. Our RCL members helped by motivating their classes to contribute and a whopping 500 learners made donations!

Our bling ranged from elegant to eccentric, and the contributions provided over R3251 for the Threatened Amphibian Program. Our
"Frogs are Green" Art Competition

art competition.

2014 Report
We first participated in Leap Day for Frogs in 2014. WGHS Eco Angels raised R970 by selling frog chocolates and holding a "Green Shirt Day"
Chocolate Frogs
The Eco Angels had great fun making a selection of plain and peppermint molded chocolate frogs for sale at first and second break for the entire week.
These were very popular and helped to keep our froggie profile high throughout the week. Thanks to Sivesha from Grade 8 for the awesome posters!

Feedback and Responses
After frog week, eco angels designed a short survey and wrote responses and feedback on the blog.
