Grade 9 Technology

 

Each year, the grade 9s are given a project in technolgy: creating a bag made of recycled plastic bags.

 

Prior to this project, each grade 9 student is taught how to crochet and knit. These techniques, as well as others, can be used whilst making their bags.

 

The bags are marked under certain criteria and the best are then displayed in our school library to show how something old can become something new.

 

This project is a enjoyable way for girls to learn the true value of resource use and that after all their hard work, a beautiful bag is created.
